Who needs to crawl anyway?

July 19th, 2009 — 7:58am

Well, our visit with the pulmonologist went really well! Since Lily had not had any wheezy episodes he stopped the daily Pulmicort, which was great because Lily really didn’t like sitting there with the purple dinosaur on her face. So we are breathing machine free probably until cold and flu season comes around again.

Lily had her 9 month check up about two weeks ago which also went very well! Apparently she should be eating three “meals” a day and not the two we had been doing, so that has been a change. She is doing great with food. In fact, she really wants nothing to do with pureed foods any more, she only wants to eat foods that she can pick up and put in her mouth by herself. She has been eating peas and carrots, pears, tons of banana, cheese, cheerios, bread, and so on! Another big change with food is that I started letting her eat the food at daycare. Before I would bring in food from home but with her wanting to eat solids all the time it didn’t make sense anymore. So this past week was our first week of that. Lily had english muffin, pancakes and blueberry muffin! She was in heaven!

THe rest of her 9 month appointment was pretty normal. The Dr was impressed that she picked up so many consenants so quickly. In one weekend she started saying “mama,” “dada,” “baba,” “yaya,” “nana,” and “ooh.” Its hilarious! We also talked about how she probably won’t crawl since she can stand. As of this weekend she can officially cruise. She does laps around the ottoman. We don’t even have to have toys on there, she just goes around and around.

A week after her 9 month appointment, she got a high fever over night and had it for 4 days. We ended up going to the doctor and they said they have been seeing a virus go around where they spike a fever but really no other symptoms. They did some blood work just to rule out a bacteria but it came back fine. Poor thing was SO hot!!! She is finally all better and back to herself.

We did finally get the TOT collar. The guy at the medical supply store worked a miracle and was able to order it. She really doesn’t mind having it on. We are able to leave it on for about an hour or two at a time which is perfect! SHe doesn’t pull at it or anything. The only time she gets mad is when we have to adjust it. So we have our next appointment with the physical therapist next Friday and hopefully she notices a difference.

I think that’s it for now! Check out the new pictures – she’s pretty cute.
